This explains what the Tapeline Size Charts app for Shopify ("Tapeline", "we") stores, why, and for how long. We've tried to keep it short and accurate. If something here is unclear, email privacy@penqn.in.

What we store about merchants

  • Your store's details from Shopify. When you install, Shopify gives us your shop domain and an access token. Shopify login sessions can also include the name, email address and locale of the staff member using the app. We use this only to run the app and, if needed, to contact you about it.
  • What you create. Your size charts, the rules that decide where they show, and your settings (button text, default unit, plan).
  • Product information. The app has read access to products only, so it can match charts to products, collections, tags, vendors and product types. It does not ask for access to your orders or customers.

What we store about shoppers

Nothing that identifies a person. For each chart we keep a daily count of how many times it was opened and how many times Find my size was used. These are plain numbers with no names, emails, IP addresses or other identifiers attached.

Anything a shopper types into Find my size (height, weight, measurements, usual size) is worked out in their own browser and is not sent to us. Their cm or inch choice is saved in their browser's local storage so the chart remembers it.

AI import

If you use AI import on the Pro plan, the text or image you upload is sent to our AI provider (currently OpenAI) only to turn it into a chart. Please don't upload anything containing personal data.

Who else handles the data

We don't sell or rent any data and we don't use it for advertising. The app runs on Cloudflare (Workers and the D1 database), so Cloudflare processes requests and stores the data on our behalf. OpenAI is used only for AI import, as described above. Payments are handled entirely by Shopify.

How long we keep it

When you uninstall, we delete your login sessions and access token straight away and set your store back to the Free plan. Your charts and settings are kept for 48 hours so a quick reinstall doesn't lose your work. Shopify then sends a shop data deletion request (shop/redact), and when it arrives we delete your charts, rules, view counts and settings.

We also handle Shopify's customer data requests (customers/data_request and customers/redact). Because we don't hold personal data about your customers, there is nothing to send back or delete, and we confirm that to Shopify.

Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of what we hold about your store, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, wherever you're based. Email privacy@penqn.in from the store owner's address and we'll reply within 30 days.

Changes

If we change how data is handled, we'll update this page and the date at the top. For bigger changes we'll also tell merchants inside the app.
